It has to be said, when it comes to statement headboards, interior designer Dorothée Meilichzon is queen. Her beautifully curated designs feature bold colours, textiles and shapes combined with retro lighting and porthole mirrors.

Her global design agency CHZON specialises in hospitality, with over 30 completed projects spanning Paris, London, Ibiza and New York, to name a few. The hotel rooms, bars and restaurants are unique, boutique and an utter feast on the eyes.

Meilichzon’s use of the headboard as a focal point has become her trademark. Often thought of as simply a necessary and mundane piece of furniture, she has proved that they are actually an underrated aspect of design which can be turned into eye-catching objects.
